In recognition of National Caregiver month, and as a caregiver for my mother who's living with dementia and various other health conditions, I created these limited edition candles as a tribute to caregivers. The journey, selflessness, heart, and sacrifice of a caregiver often goes unrecognized and can be very lonely. It's a responsibility, whether chosen or not, that can leave the caregiver feeling invisible and depleted. Self-care is not as easily practiced or accomplished as a caregiver, so in my effort to be more intentional about my own self-care, I created these three limited edition candles to acknowledge caregivers and encourage our self-care.

Take a Mindful Breath
Self-care simply starts by taking a mindful breath, inhale then exhale. Breathing may sound cliché; however how many times do we catch ourselves holding our breath when we're stressed, feeing anxious, overwhelmed, upset, or just going through a lot. When our minds are unsteady so is our breathing. This candle encourages a mindful deep breath and exhale to still and steady the mind.
This sophisticated cocktail begins with delicate saffron threads, sweet anise, and a whisper of eucalyptus. Luscious black currants and blackberries are at the heart of this fragrance with a hint of green, earthy basil. Caregivers, whether by choice or not, take on enormous amounts of responsibility caring for others.
In the midst of taking care of others, ones own self-care often gets put on the back burner and is neglected. Therefore my intention is to inspire and encourage through aromatherapy that it's ok to take some time for self-care.
